Types of Vape Kit

Starter Kit

If you're new to vaping, a starter kit will be perfect for you. Vape starter kits are simple, easy-to-use vape kits such as vape pens and pod kits with limited features. Often cheaper than other types of vape kit, starter kits are the perfect first vape or a great upgrade from disposable vapes

Intermediate Kit

Okay, so you liked your starter kit but now you've realised you want a bit more power and customisation. It might be time to try one of our intermediate vape kits which have a greater range of settings such as adjustable airflow or adjustable power. These vaping devices often feature a larger battery capacity or are compatible with a wider range of coils

Advanced Kit

For more advanced vapers who want to get more intense flavours and vapour clouds from their e-liquids, or want more customisation options for their vapes, our range of advanced vape kits is perfect. Featuring powerful batteries and advanced modes, these are a great way to get the most out of your vape. Note: most of these are sub-ohm vape kits.

Pod Kits

Instead of having a separate tank, pod kits feature removable pods for the e-liquid, which easily click into place. Closed pod kits come pre-filled with e-liquid and once the vape juice is used up you just replace the pod with a new one. These are the simplest type of pod kit and are preferred by beginners. They usually are filled with nic salt e-liquids.  The other type of pod kit is known as an open pod kit. Open pod kits are unique because they can be refilled with new e-liquid when it runs out. These are best suited to e-liquids with a high PG content of 50% or more.

Vape Pens

Vape pens are one of the oldest varieties of e-cigarette along with cig-a-likes, distinguished by their pen-like appearance. Pen-style e-cigs are favoured by some former smokers because of the similar feel to traditional cigarettes. Today, there's some overlap between vape pens, pod kits and other types of vape kit, so you might hear the terms vape pen and e-cigarette used interchangeably.

Vape Kit FAQs

Which kit should I choose if I've never vaped before?

If you're new to the world of vaping, all this choice can be pretty overwhelming. We highly recommend that you start by choosing one of our vape starter kits which have been carefully selected by us because they're beginner-friendly and easy to use. If even a starter kit seems a little intimidating, why not start your vaping journey with disposable vapes? These are the simplest and most discreet vapes on the market and they require no expertise because they're pre-charged, pre-filled with e-liquid, and ready to use straight out of the box. Just recycle your disposable vape when you're finished vaping. Simple!

Is an open or closed pod kit better?

There are advantages and disadvantages to both types of pod kit, so it depends what sort of vape you are looking for. Closed pods are simpler and easier to use - there's no fiddly refilling necessary. However, open pod kits give you more control over which e-liquids you use and how high the nicotine strength is. If you're looking to quit smoking with the help of e-cigarettes, open pods may be better for you so you can gradually decrease the nicotine strength over time. If you're looking for your first pod kit, we love the super low-maintenance Vaporesso XROS 3 Mini pod kit, pocket-friendly e-cigarette that are great for beginners. A great intermediate pod kit is the Voopoo Drag X Pro pod kit. We're big fans of this e-cigarette because Voopoo have packed it full of great features like the new GENE Fan 3.0 chip which provides additional power modes and safety features.

How are vape pens different from pod kits?

Vape pens are e-cigarettes that have a cylindrical design like that of a pen and feature a refillable tank, whereas pod kits have pods instead of a regular tank. If you're looking for a great pen-style vape, we love the Innokin Endurra T18 II kit. Super simple and stylish, this Innokin vape is a perfect starter e-cigarette

What vape style should I use with these vape kits?

The starter kits we stock are designed for mouth-to-lung vaping, the type of vaping that is most similar to how you would inhale smoke from a tobacco cigarette. These e-cigs feature coils with a resistance of above one ohm, making them ideal for use with high PG and 50/50 e-liquids for MTL vaping. Our intermediate and advanced kits have options for sub-ohm and direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping.

What is sub-ohm vaping?

This refers to vaping with sub-ohm coils - coils that have a resistance of less than one ohm. For more advanced vapers, sub-ohm vaping provides the best flavours and vapour clouds from your e-cigarette, using e-liquid with a high VG content. If you want to learn more about sub-ohm vaping, check out our blog post about ohm's law here

How do I know how much nicotine to use with my vaping device?

If you're new to vaping, figuring out how much nicotine you need in your e-liquid can take some trial and error. To speed up the process, here's our guide to how much nicotine you might need, based on how many cigarettes you're used to smoking.
1-5 cigarettes =3mg
5-10 cigarettes =6mg
10 - 20 cigarettes =12mg
20+ cigarettes =18-20mg
Keep in mind that depending on the type of e-cigarette you're using (whether it's plus-ohm, sub-ohm, a pod kit with nicotine salts, etc), you'll likely be consuming nicotine differently, so you might not need the same strength. For example, sub-ohm vaping devices require a lower nicotine strength because they deliver more nicotine with each hit.

Where can I get external batteries for my e-cigarette?

If your e-cigarette's external batteries don't come included with the kit, we've got you covered. Browse our range of vape batteries here.
