Disposable pods FAQ
How do disposable pods work?
Disposable vape pods are pre-filled with 2ml of e-liquid, typically in the form of nic salts. Each type of disposable pod is designed to be used with a specific pod kit. For instance, Elf Bar's ELFA Pro pods are compatible with the ELFA Pro pod kit. Once the pod has run out of e-liquid, you simply dispose of it and install a new pod in your kit.
With pod kits, you'll be able to try out different flavours without having to replace your device. The disposable ELFA Pro pods are available in Elf Bar's classic flavours such as Blue Razz Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Strawberry Ice Cream, and Blueberry Cotton Candy.
What's the difference between disposable vapes and disposable pods?
The main difference between disposable vapes and disposable pod kits is in how they're replaced. With disposable vapes, once it has run out of e-liquid or power you'll need to dispose of the entire device.
On the other hand, disposable pods and pod kits don't require you to buy a completely new device every time you run out. Instead, vapers just need to dispose of the used vape pod and replace it with a fresh one. This means disposable pods can be more cost-efficient, environmentally friendly and more convenient compared to disposable vapes.
Are rechargeable disposable kits similar to reusable vape kits?
Pre-filled pod systems are the middle point between disposable vapes and reusable vape kits. While they are reusable, they aren't as flexible as reusable vapes. Pre-filled pod kits must be used with their compatible pre-filled vape pods, whereas reusable vapes can be filled with whatever e-liquid you want (as long as it's compatible with the device’s coil).
Disposable pod kits also aren't as customisable as reusable vapes. With reusable vape kits, you're able to customise its different components (e.g. coil, tank, battery etc.) according to your personal vaping preferences. Pod kits are limited in that they can't be customised the same way. If you're looking for something more customisable which is also beginner-friendly, take a look at our all-in-one starter vape kits.
How long does each pre-filled pod last?
The ELFA Pro pre-filled pods from Elf Bar are designed to last around 550-600 puffs, which often equates to a few days. However, this is an estimation and is dependent on your vaping habits. If you're a heavy vaper, you might need to replace your pods more often compared to a light vaper.
Do disposable vape pods contain nicotine?
Each disposable vape pod is pre-filled with e-liquid that contains nicotine. The ELFA Pro pods, for instance, contain 20mg of nicotine in the form of nic salts. All disposable pods will contain a maximum nicotine strength of 2% in compliance with TPD regulations.
Do disposable vape pods help with smoking cessation?
Disposable vape pods and pod kits are a great way to quit smoking. First off, the e-liquid typically used in disposables are nic salts, typically with a 2% nicotine strength. These devices also use a higher resistance coil. Both these factors combined help to provide a smooth mouth-to-lung vaping experience that is very similar to smoking a cigarette, making disposables a great option for new vapers and anyone trying to quit smoking.
Disposable vapes are also a great way to satisfy nicotine cravings without the harmful effects of smoking tobacco cigarettes. Vaping has been proven to be significantly less harmful than cigarettes, as cigarettes contain 7,000 known toxic chemicals. This makes disposable vapes a great way for smokers to transition away from cigarettes safely.
Are disposable vape pods TPD compliant?
Here at Oxford Vapours, we only stock vape pods and other vaping products that are completely TPD compliant. The TPD, short for the Tobacco Product Directive, regulates the manufacturing and sales of vapes and e-liquids in the UK, including disposable vapes. Under TPD Article 20, disposables can only contain a maximum of 2ml of e-liquid and 20mg of nicotine while also including a nicotine warning on its packaging.
Can disposable pods leak?
While many pods and pod kits are produced to extremely high standards these days, leaking can still happen. To prevent your disposable pods from leaking, ensure your pod kit’s battery is fully charged before you vape as an under-powered battery can prevent your e-liquid from vaporising properly. Remember not to leave your vape lying on its side or upside down for too long as this can also cause e-liquid to leak out.
